Project Goals and Challenges
The main goal of the project was to create a user-friendly e-commerce tool that would serve as a system for selling digital products. The challenge was to design a purchase process that was specific to the subscription-based product and additional services offered by DrEryk.
Scope of Work
Smultron software house worked closely with the design studio Edisonda and DrEryk to define the client’s needs, resulting in a functional and technical e-commerce specification and work schedule. Edisonda carried out the UX and UI design, which was then coded and developed into an e-commerce software. The shop was integrated with the eGabinet platform via API and with the rest of DrEryk’s website. Integration with the GUS (Central Statistical Office) database allowed the client’s data to be loaded on the basis of the VAT ID entered. The website was also extended to a network of sites (multisite) to enable the management of the company’s various sites within a single WP installation. Finally, the project underwent rigorous testing, followed by a release and the start of ongoing SLA and maintenance, as well as further development work.
Unusual Features
The e-commerce tool developed by Smultron Software House offers the purchase of a digital product, such as eGabinet, both as a subscription (charged monthly) and as a one-off payment. The project uses both a traditional payment gateway and a recurring payment (annual and monthly subscription). Additionally, due to the specific nature of the product sold, a dedicated purchase process and buyer panel were programmed.
Technologies Used
The project was developed using WooCommerce, an open-source e-commerce platform built on WordPress. The integration with the eGabinet platform was achieved using API communication. The project also used a traditional payment gateway and a recurring payment system for subscription-based products.
Communication and Documentation
Smultron software house worked closely with DrEryk and Edisonda throughout the project, communicating mainly online using tools such as MS TEAMS, BASECAMP, FIGMA, emails, and online documents. The project was carefully documented, resulting in a functional and technical e-commerce specification and a work schedule.
Conclusion
The e-commerce tool developed by Smultron Software House successfully meets DrEryk’s specific needs and offers a user-friendly and efficient purchase process for subscription-based products and additional services. Ongoing development support, including SLAs, IT consultancy, and maintenance, is also provided to DrEryk.
