We were asked to design and code multimedia reportages. The result of the work is a web application that enables an attractive presentation and edition of this type of content.

Our task was to present in an interactive form the content of reportages prepared by the Onet.pl editorial staff. The format was supposed to be universal enough to be used in a series of reportages on various topics. At the same time, it was crucial that it should present various visual content within one project in a non-intrusive and user-friendly way.
We started working on UX with an analysis of the assumptions, functionality of the project and components that should appear on the website. Based on these analyzes, after detailed talks with the Onet team and tests, we designed the layout and navigation of the website that allows the user to easily use the published content.
We have created a comprehensive template that allows you to present a variety of audiovisual materials that work together without disturbing the perception of the whole. Moreover, such a varied form engages the user’s attention and encourages them to explore the topic. As part of the project, we made it possible to add: two types of video, audioplayer, photo gallery, image comparison slider, interactive map.
Each reportage is made of slides. We wanted the text to harmonize with the visual layer, so the user can scroll the text using the arrows within one slide (background). The user also has the option of listening to the text being read by the lector. Clear navigation, intuitive UX and constantly visible icons for switching the audio on and off and the voiceover’s recordings give the user control and freedom in reading the content. In order for the content to be legible enough, despite the varied background (color photos or videos), we added a slight gradient to the text slides.
The website has been built on the basis of the WordPress platform. Thanks to an easy-to-use content management system (CMS), editors can configure the display options of individual media on their own without interfering with the code. And the designed template can be used while creating new reportages.
As a result, we have created a user-friendly, eye-engaging, modern form of reportages. As part of the series, reportages were created, among others: Przystanek Polska, Wysychamy and 10 years from Smolensk.
